Deidre Scherer’s fabric and thread images on aging have appeared in over one hundred shows internationally and nationally including her solo exhibition at The Baltimore Museum of Art. Her work has been featured extensively in publications and on covers, most notably, When I Am an Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple.
In 2000, Scherer received a Fine Arts Fellowship from the Open Society Institute’s Project on Death in America to complete her traveling exhibition, Surrounded by Family and Friends. In this series, as in her past artwork, Scherer raises awareness concerning aging and dying. For more information, visit: www.dscherer.com.
